But an ADC isn't an interface: It can send digital audio to your computer, but it doesn't accept output from your computer. (How do I insert an image from my desktop? I wanted to upload an image showing the noise, but it seems I can only insert from elsewhere on the web, with a URL.) Anyway, I'd like to try a better device-a high-quality ADC. Unfortunately, I've found that my audio interface-a Focusrite Scarlett-is too noisy at high frequencies for my purposes. However, I recently figured out that to get Audition to record at 192kHz you have to choose external hardware as both the input and output device-and it appears that it has to be the same hardware-that is, an audio interface. I'm using Adobe Audition, which in most respects works well for my purposes. I'm making some technical measurements that require 192kHz sampling. ![]() Not sure if this counts as a newbie question, but I might as well start here.
